Australian Government to announce the 2022-2023 Budget.

It was another busy week for THE EXPATRIATE, two new specialists, the Australian Budget is coming up, Federal Government news for the Mortgage and Finance sector, Blog Recap.

We are excited to announce that THE EXPATRIATE is pleased to welcome two more specialists to our Team. We’d like you to meet Julia Qian, Immigration Law Specialist, and Ian Cragg, our International Currency Transfer Specialist.

First up, Julia Qian is THE EXPATRIATE Immigration Specialist. Julia is an immigration lawyer with over 13 years of experience in the immigration field, from corporate work for large multinational companies to SMEs and individuals, including family visas, skilled migration, and student visas.

Julia has already written her first blog for us about Australian Tourist Visas. Look out for her next new release. We’ve asked her to share her thoughts on the Australian government and its immigration quota of 230,000 for Australia in 2022 -2023, with incentives to help skilled workers migrate to Australia.

Introducing Ian Cragg to THE EXPATRIATE Community. Ian is the Co-Founder of Send Payment, an Australian-based Money Transferring Company. Send Payments started with a eureka moment in 2018. Send Payments was born from the need to solve a problem and find an alternative to foreign exchange needs.

Ian brings a wealth of almost twenty years of foreign currency exchange knowledge and experience to THE EXPATRIATE Team. He is passionate about helping his customers get the best possible deal when exchanging funds across currencies and borders.

He is a mover and a shaker in the money market and a fintech and digital banking space leader, providing world-class digital and mobile payment platforms to private and corporate clients worldwide.

We are looking forward to seeing his thoughts on the currency transfers. I am sure many of our readers need to transfer large sums of money to purchase a house, relocate back to Australia, or invest. Australian Budget is announced on Tuesday Night.

It will be one interesting Budget, as it is an election year, therefore an election budget. Let’s see how the Budget manages to walk the fine line between managing the budget, monitoring Inflation, and keeping voters happy.

News flash - The Mortgage Broking Industry. 

This year, the Remuneration by the Council of Financial Regulators and the ACCC, for the Mortgage Broker Industry will no longer be required. Australia's Federal Government will not proceed with the Broker Remuneration Review after acknowledging that the broker commission structure is not problematic. 

In 2019, following the Hayne Royal Commission's Final Report, Treasurer announced this further review of the Mortgage and Finance Industry. Since the Hayne Royal Commission in 2019, the mortgage broking industry has continued to produce strong customer outcomes and implemented a raft of significant remuneration and governance reforms. The industry continues to work collaboratively with the Treasury and the Federal Government and Council of Financial Regulators, ASIC and the ACCC will continue to monitor the sector to ensure it is delivering for consumers.
